I’m still pretty high from last night’s event, but before I cover that, let me share with you what I did last Friday: The Vanity Fair at SM North Skydome with a bunch of other beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers, touring the site, checking out the products and having a general gabfest with everyone.
I love this idea of a vanity fair, but I wish they held it in a more intimate place like somewhere in Makati or at the Rockwell Tent. But that’s just me, since I rode the MRT going to SM North and didn’t realize how much I’d really have to walk it from the station, haha!

Liz was scandalized at my bodycon dress from Get Laud when I got there. Don’t worry, it’s pretty decent, but of course it clings to the body and especially my booty, haha. I wore it with a long, knitted cape, as a distraction for people who might think it too sexy, which wasn’t very effective on Liz. It’s one of my lazy outfits, actually, since I knew I was going to be at rehearsals later in the evening and I wanted to be in something unfussy. I got a curious comment about this dress before from the manang who used to sell merienda at my old office: “Ma’am ang sexy nyo. Parang ahas!” (Trans: Ma’am, you look sexy. Like a snake!) I couldn’t decide whether it was a compliment or not.

Who doesn’t like makeovers? The Body Shop and The Face Shop (funny how that sounds in one sentence) were having free ones.

Blurred photo alert! That’s Noelle and the super chic duo Karl and Nicole

There was a quick lesson from John Robert Powers and we were all joking that I should pay attention in case I pick up something useful for the fashion show the next day.

Liz also gave a talk on how to level up our blogs
But of course, you don’t think we were just sitting there the whole time. They actually had a game for us bloggers. And I’m sure while some were reluctant to participate at first, that vanished within 3 seconds of the game because everyone went into competitive mode. It was hilarious!

Our team won, by the way, because we were awesome. Or just faster at the tie-breaker haha!
Aaand, I’m surprised I didn’t get a snapshot with Bestie (I thought I got one in my camera, but probably it was somebody else’s). I so loved her hair, I was trying to get close snapshots of it so I can do the same thing with mine (except probably messier than that). It’s not a french braid, which is also what I want to learn to do on my own and for myself, but it’s still quite chic!

Someone just please do a tutorial on this already! Haha! I so want that hair.
I totally loved the gift packs we got, by the way, and I was tickled pink with the three loaves of bread from Waltermart. It was the only non-beauty item there, but it’s breakfast! Now that I’m off the temporary diet, I won’t feel guilty about this at all. Plus, I get a bunch of other products that I get to test drive and review. Pretty excited to dig in through the rest of it, actually, since I didn’t get a close look. It was raining and it was a Friday night. Not to mention John Mayer’s concert was happening in MOA.
Oh, and do join my Larry Alcala shirt raffle! It’s such a cool, free gift, if not for yourself, for someone else who grew up reading Larry Alcala. Classic!

And you look great in that bodycon dress. May I grab some pics? Did I really look that fair in person?? I thought I tanned a bit na. Oh well.
Hi Alex,
It was nice meeting you at the event. Can I grab some pics of the bloggers’ game? haha I wasn’t able to bring my camera on stage
Oh wow, I want to learn how to do that hair, too! While I do braid my hair in that fashion, hers look a lot more complicated. Wish I could have gone, but I had work.
Hm. Maybe I should change my schedule to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday instead of WThF. Because all the nice events seem to fall on WThF…
I’d like to thank you again for giving me the free moisturizer.
Hahaha.
Btw, if you find out how to do that braid thing, keep us posted. I really do like braids.
Kira – Thanks!
Also, yes, you really are that fair. Sorry I couldn’t have dinner with you guys, but we have this week right? Right?
Kim – sure, grab all you want!
It was great meeting you too, hope to bump into you at the next blogger event!
Ate – I tried nga rin several times, I had pegs of Zoe Saldana and Nicole Richie pa, but I couldn’t do it. It’s nice on Bestie din cos it really flatters her face shape.
Henzel – Use SPF and moisturizer everyday ha! Promise, you won’t regret it!
I thought I already commented in your post Alex =/ Might have been my fail internet connection! Glad to see you again!
I also can’t get over the vanity fair, thanks for the photos!:)
“I am real”! Haha!
We have to meet up again for lunch or something!
Nice seeing you again
