I’m excited and somewhat apprehensive. Tomorrow, I plan on dropping by School of Fashion and the Arts to enroll for a basic fashion styling course. I don’t see how it can be anything but fun, although this was far from what I imagined myself getting into when I was a kid. I wanted to be an archaelogist, for crying out loud. I cannot do fashion design, I think, but styling, well. It was a more recent development, and with some proper education, I really think something can come out of it. I used to be quite a fashion photography enthusiast until I realized it was the art directing, creating scenes with the clothes, set and make-up that got me excited the most. And anyhow…I don’t see how anyone can resist playing dress up.
And that reminded me–there’s this online styling playground called Polyvore, and I had an account there. I checked it again, and it was apparently untouched for the last 2 years that I had it. Well now, I’m reviving the love! Or starting the spark, at least. I wasn’t so into it like some of my friends were, mainly because the number of items you can play with is staggering! For the most part you just look. In awe. You just don’t know where to start. I wonder, if I were a stylist, would I have this same problem of choosing outfits for a layout? There’s just so many clothes and shoes to choose from. You kind of tend to pile up everything or maybe short change a look you had in your head.
So here I am, puttering around Polyvore. How I wish I really had these clothes!Related posts:
