All of the photos I have to show were taken from “10″ which featured 10-piece collections from 10 designers: Danilo Franco, Edgar Allan, Edgar San Diego, Eric Pineda, JC Buendia, Johny Abad, Noel Crisostomo, Noli Hans, Richard Papa, SLIM: Salvacion Lim Higgins. I’m sorry that I didn’t get all dresses and I think I missed Noli Hans entirely–this was because I was seated at the 2nd row in the VIP area, which isn’t really a prime location for shooting with a 50mm lens. Not to mention, while the seats in front of us were quite vacant for the first half of the show, some guys quietly crept (as quietly as you can creep into the first row anyway) and sat on those seats and quite blocked my view. So then I wasn’t in a photo-taking mood anymore.
I noticed most of the models booked were from Cal Carrie’s–they’re one of the sponsors this year. But I noticed that all 10 designs made an entrance at the end of the collection only for Noel Crisostomo–I think because he really used one model per dress and that they didn’t have a quick change after.
I was amazed upon seeing the Ford models back home as I know that all of them are based in New York since placing in the past Ford’s Supermodel of the World search.
First up, Danilo Franco. Many of the collections shown at “10″ had a touch of asian aesthetics:
Spotted: Chat Almarvez, 1st runner up of Ford Supermodel of the World search 2010. The third Filipina in the history of the worldwide competition to place in the top 3. It was the highest we ever achieved, until this year. Seems like a good decade in the modeling industry for us.
Next up, Edgar Allan, whose collection reminded me of sainted idols and Santacruzan meets prom:
And then the dresses worthy of the supervillain Valentina:
Stay tuned for the next batch of photos!
