Apr262010Tags: collaboration, fashion, models, photography, rtw, styling, workSo I collaborated with some old friends: Louie Sagabaen, James Dulay, Albert Narral and Edgar Sañano, collectively Focal Length Studio. I usually don’t like having more than one photographer, but I was amazed at how organized they went about it. I loved all the photos that came out. James, unfortunately, couldn’t be there for the shoot, but the final processing for the photos you’ll be seeing here today were made by him.
I was excited about this project because I get to work with my favorite make-up artist Rae Venturanza (I swear our blood ties have nothing to do with it)! Also, i did the concept for this, not just the styling. The guys were very involved from the start, letting me comment on the progress of their composite images and asking a lot of details and suggesting backdrops. Thankfully, I didn’t have to do much directing here because they already knew what they were doing and were pretty much in command of the whole setup. “Do you want sexy?” I remember Louie and Edgar asking me. “No,” I said. “I want stylish and cool and chic.” And they got exactly what I meant. The boys were the ones who directed the shots and the poses mostly, while I was free to worry about the clothes and styling. Whew!
This is also the second time I worked with Miel. I really love this girl’s look! We had another model with us, Marian, who was actually Rae’s find.
