Jul272010Tags: fashion, outfit of the day, shoes, vintage3 OOTD posts in one month s’not so bad, I’m thinking. I’m getting the hang of it, but I still look left and right before telling whoever it is holding the camera (in this case, “my bff” Marcus) to shoot, quick! These were inconspicuously and appropriately taken in Red Mango, by the way. It was a Monday afternoon and no one was around, yay!
Before this year, I wasn’t really a dress or skirt person. Not that I didn’t want to wear them. But I’m really quite self-conscious of my legs, because no matter what I do, they’re always scarred. First, mosquito bites. Then flag football. Then the result of shaving/waxing/epilating/ingrown/whatever. But I threw caution to the wind the summer of this year because it was so freaking hot, I couldn’t bear to be in jeans any longer, and my favorite alternative, patterned tights, could only go so far. I donned skirts and dresses to work without the usual tights or stockings and it just felt so light and cool. I haven’t looked back since.
On a whim, I decided to really match my outfit, which I usually hate. I rarely pick the same color to wear and I don’t like my bags matching my shoes. I haven’t done this since grade school, maybe, but I thought, what the heck.

The red, chiffon polka-dotted dress is from my mom, and the red patent Mary Jane shoes are my sister’s (she has another one in blue) which she bought from Celine. The belt I bought from What a Girl Wants, which was one of my favorite Multiply shops back then. The pearl and rosette necklace is from Forever 21.

I thought it’d be something like Blair Waldorf would wear if she were kitschy cos she wouldn’t wear plastic. I did because I don’t have a lot of belts and the one I wanted to wear was too big for me. Heck, a lot of belts are too big for me. Friends have been saying I’m looking skinnier than usual lately. Maybe if I take up running seriously I’ll gain some.
Also, I liked my hair that day. It took copious amounts of conditioner as usual, but it wasn’t too limp, which is sometimes the results of my attempts to tame my curls.

More OOTDs, please
Thanks Teeyah!
I was surprised at how much I liked this matchy thing, but I don’t think I’ll do it again anytime soon, haha!
Alex, WAGW has a store na in Galleria
You look great! I couldn’t pull off a polka dress even if my life depended on it. So I’ll see ya friday?
They do? Wow! I was addicted to Multiply shopping before and I was always at their site. Also, thank you! The dress has been with me for quite some time although it was my mum’s originally. Haven’t returned it yet, haha.
On Friday, are you going to the Saizen event, too?
Yes I am! And I shall take a whiff of your Benetton perfume, mine’s too musky unfortunately. I may have to gift it to somebody else :p
Love the dotted dress, Alex! In red pa. =) More outfits ha! =) Happy Wednesday!
Your hair looks gorgeous! And I love your outfit.
Dang – Thanks! Red happens to be one of my favorite colors, hihi!
Kira – So sorry, I should’ve gotten Rosso for all of us! And yay, I’ll have someone to bug at the event. Haha! I think Lauren’s coming, too.
Lauren – thanks! Do I see you on Friday, too? I’ll bring your UCB bag along.

Toxic – hihi! I’m getting the hang of it na nga eh. When you guys do it, you look so carefree! While I’m self-conscious, haha.. I just like wearing and styling fashionable clothes, but posing for the camera is another story.
Lookin’ good Leki! ^_^
awww, thanks, Yan!
Glad to know you still visit this site, haha!
LOL, lakas mo magreklamo matagal na ako walang bagong shoes, eh lagi naman shoes ko suot mo sa blog entries mo. Hahahaha! Ok naman. I’m not a fan of matching din but this looked really good. I LOVE RED. Hehehe.
Eh wala ka naman talagang bagong shoes eh! Besides, quits lang tayo kasi lagi mo rin suot yung sneakers and trainers ko na hindi ko rin naman ginagamit.
Kelangan ko nga ng bagong shoes. Wah. Sasali ako sa shoe contests…
I like your outfit! Lovely
Thanks, Tin!
