About
The Reluctant Stylista is a fashion and lifestyle blog written by Alex Lapa--the tomboy who suddenly discovered the joys and perks of dressing up. Original illustrations by Paolo Lazatin.
For inquiries, comments, invites and other messages, shoot me an e-mail. You can also ask me some fashion/styling questions--heck, in my line of work, I rarely get to dress up the same body type as my own! If your question is something that I think will benefit our readers, I will feature it in our Ask Stylista section! Click on the button below to send your questions!
Click here if you're looking for my styling work. Do visit my newly set up R.Stylista Facebook page, which will soon contain a lot more of my collaborations in commercials, advertisements, TV, fashion shows and even lifestyle, personal and engagement shoots!

Feb232013Tags: fashion, outfit of the day, stylingI may not have always loved fashion, but I think I’ve always held a certain fascination for costumes. This OOTD isn’t actually anything that I’ve worn outside the studio, but it was one of those moments when we just felt like playing dress up. (With my friends as stylists and dressers, and me, their willing human doll and forever guinea pig).
We used the photo above to advertise our booth (and wares) at Bloggers United in our social media networks, so you might have seen this some time ago. I was wearing all of these gold accessories we eventually sold out during the bazaar.
I played around with some of the eyeshadow palettes that Nio had at his shop. I wanted a plum or dark purple lipstick to go with this long vest made by John (on me it’s a dress), but since my kikay kit is quite limited, I dabbled with purple eyeshadow instead and colored my lips with them. Hihi.
Then Nio thought we should tie my hair up in a braid to complete a sort of Asian female warrior look. I even had two cuffs, one on each wrist, but then I ultimately decided to take one of them off because the gold was too overpowering already haha.

I love the gold buttons on this one
So yeah, this is pretty much what happens when Nio, John and I are all bored together. We always have clothes to play with and a camera to document our goofing around, and this is the result!
Knowing myself, I probably won’t mind going out with this outfit at all. I’d probably just ditch any two of the accessories to “tame” the look down.

Bibo ka, Gurl!!! Ha ha ha!!! I always love visiting your blog!!! Next time, lets overdose you with gold and see what the populace has to say, specially the “not a fan” readers of your blog.
Thanks Nio! And thank you for always helping me out. You know why I’m updating this more often naman lately, hihi. :* I hope you never get tired of visiting!
Sige gusto ko makita. Hahaha. Hindi ko keri ginagawa mo, kaya buti ikaw ang gumagawa tutal bumabagay naman.
Love it babe!
Thank you, Sasa!
I love how often you’ve been blogging lately! Two cuffs would have completed the warrior woman look talaga. I really like the braid you have here.
Thanks Eula! I know, super sipag ko lately haha, all of my blogger friends are surprised. I’m kind of embarrassed na nga that I’m posting everyday updates on Twitter and FB.
