The Reluctant Stylista

Before this month ends, I ought to share my picks from adidas this June, that you might check them out as well:

For running

As you know, adidas King of the Road 2011 registration is now open.  The race is to be held at the runners’ favorite Bonifacio Global City on October 23.  If you’re participating and you’re planning on loading up the adidas goods, these are my bets. Note: Registration is free for adidas purchases worth 7,000php; 50% off on registration for purchases worth 5,000php.

Do remember that long-distance running requires a different set of gear from your usual workouts.  You have to worry about the proper support given the constant movement and chafing of your clothes against your body.  I used to think that anything cotton would be a great choice, but it’s not actually the case.  Go for something nylon or propylene.  Check the zippers if they are lined, otherwise those are really going to hurt after a few minutes of running.  Also, the less stitching on your clothes, the better.

As for your shoes, they are deathly important.  Sometimes, you won’t even know you have the wrong shoes for a marathon until you’ve run a good 15 minutes in them and you start to feel the difference.  Go for something lightweight–actually the new ClimaCool rides are good, given good weather (or extreme heat).  The ventilation is fantastic.  But there are other choices, too, if you’re thinking of other options that has more covering.

What I’d recommend:

adidas Running for women

adiZero short-sleeve tee, adiZero three-quarter tights, Supernova High Impact bra, Supernova shorts, adiPrene running shoes, adiZero aegis.
Check: good ventilation, durable fabric, lightweight material, good support, comfortable and stretchy.
You can check the website to see what gear is best for a particular weather–this might help you best in choosing what to wear.

For football

I used to play flag football in college, and though that was for a very short time, I wish I were still doing it.  I love contact sports!  Nowadays I don’t get much exercise except for walking around malls, shopping (that really is part of my job).  Anyway, football is picking up popularity once again, no small thanks to the Azkals.

I was planning to feature more on men’s fashion this June, but as time and resources would permit it, I wasn’t able to update as much as I wanted to.  So my mood board for football is mostly for the boys.

Note that these two shoes I included below perform better on firm, natural pitches.  There are other football team jerseys available, by the way, such as Milan, Madrid, Chelsea.

adidas football

adiPower Predator TRX FG in blue and red; FC Bayern Munchen jersey, Predator jersey and shorts

For street style

Possibly my favorite of the lot, adidas street style!  Most are from the NEO label, cos I think that’s the best looking ones.  Inspired by the gorgeous photos (I love how they were styled–funky, hip, street stylish sporty):

adidas NEO LABEL Sport Casual Dress, Sport Casual French Terry Shorts, QT SlimCourt Mid shoe, Shoulder Bag 1, logo cap, Initiatives Full-Zip Hoodie, LABEL MP3 Love Graphic V-Neck Tee shirt, Foundation Leggings, adria Ballerina Sleek W (2,695php)

I got a pair of ballerina flats from adidas recently, but sadly, they didn’t fit.  I’d like that one with the bows above, especially (and I’m not even partial to ballerina flats)!
