2010

Ensembles has recently come out with a new collection for the holidays, in collaboration with Louis Claparols. The brand has always been pretty popular here for chic corporate wear, and this latest they have to offer has a little extra oomph in it to jazz up any boring work place. It’s full of geometric designs, art-deco inspired trims and prints for tops, skirts, boleros and trench coats.
Check out some of my favorites from the collection. I especially love the coats and the pencil skirts that you can pair up with a basic plain top!

I love the purple dress ^_^
You just reminded me of yet another backlog. Hayz. I never knew these designs could like this good! Now I really have to get myself some new booties to replace the ones I’ve ruined.
It looks nice conceptually but even from the controlled environment and nice lighting, the workmanship and detail doesn’t look great. It gives me an idea of what to expect in stores. It just doesn’t flow that well and a lot (if not all) will be a problem for those with fuller shapes, a.k.a those who are trying to hide problem areas in their thighs and abs.
Only Carmina’s photo with the title looks good because it looks like fine material has been used for the dress, but I really can’t tell if that’s good since she’s sitting down, there’s a lot of desaturation, and Carmina herself looks good in most things.
Sorry for the slightly harsh critic…but I’m just on the point of view of how I, an average person who shops, can possibly say wow and later be disappointed when I try them on.
Naomi – I haven’t seen the clothes up close myself, but you may be right that the material isn’t exactly the best for some of the designs. Though of course, seeing as it has to be affordable, too, that plays a role in the fabric selection. Also, I never thought of these on fuller women for whom softer looks may be more flattering. But I think many of the pieces can be layered for better overall styling than just those shown above.
The print are placed right there at the waist down, making it a bad choice for women who are conscious about it. (like me!) I don’t think I can find anything to layer it with. A long coat or cardigan over it would not really hide it and besides, why hide prints, right?
Also, I was hoping that I don’t have to layer to get my style in cos it’s really really hot even in September now. ;_;
Ang payat ni Carmina!

I really enjoyed watching the play. We should go back, sulit eh! And then food trip and.. fun shoot after!
Looks good – siempre for those who can carry it. Though not for me, i still enjoy looking at them. I like the white and black pencils with design – i might even try them… hehe
