If you’re a south girl like I am, then you’re in for a treat: Kitchenails has just opened at ATC!
I don’t usually stray far on Sundays, so when I have a few errands to run and find myself in Alabang Town Center, I usually like sneaking in a little pampering time. For the past year or so, however, I haven’t had that luxury–mainly because nail salons in Town are always horrendously full and undermanned. So I was glad to hear a new one was opening a little bit away from the more crowded area. You can find Kitchenails beside Gerry’s Grill at the Upper Ground Floor of the Town Plaza (the floor above Marks & Spencer and Lush), and, for now, it’s a delicious little secret.
A little treat for the bloggers
Top notch service
When blogger and events coordinator Aldous first told me about Kitchenails, I was thinking that it was probably a cafe and a salon. Close, but not quite–the nail salon’s concept is like having your nails done in a kitchen or a bakery. The attendants are in chef’s outfits and the tools they use include kitchen equipment like baking pans and spatulas. Even the menu for the services look delicious, as you get to pick your own scrub, massage oil and moisturizer/lotion (if you get the set packages). And I always love it when the salon carries Zoya! This is also the first time I spotted Morgan Taylor, actually. I picked a nice powdery blue shade from this brand to go with a dress I was planning on wearing a few days later.
I’m very meticulous about nails, because if my manicurist/pedicurist don’t follow my exact instructions, I end up with months-long ingrown problem. I didn’t have to worry–they asked me the right questions about cuticles, dry skin, etcetera–so I knew right away I was going to be in good hands. I do hope this is the standard at Kitchenails, and not just for special occasions.
I obviously loved my hand/arm massage. It’s really relaxing and perfect right after the scrub. The lotions and scrubs come in variants like lemongrass, strawberry, mint, etc.
How cute is the kitchen theme? The red refrigerator is where they keep their nail polish. Don’t worry, it’s unplugged–it’s really just storage room.
If you’re in the area, don’t forget to drop by and try out the scrumptious services. Thanks so much Aldous for introducing us to Kitchenails!Related posts:
