Apr182010Tags: fashion, philippine fashion, photography, rtw, shopping, workI must say Get Laud is rocking my socks right now. I was browsing through their racks and certainly, if you’re looking for some good, affordable dresses for work, they have one of the best collections around. But what really surprised me was their summer collection.
I was looking for dresses to use at an African Sunrise-themed shoot–so basically, for me, that called for tribal and floral. Get Laud has both, and for really good prices, to boot! At first glance, they don’t seem much–I don’t think being on the racks did them justice nor do most of their store lighting, and on mannequins it’s only a little better. Thank God I trusted my instincts because upon fitting on a real person, they were absolutely gorgeous! People were asking me where I found them and when I told them where and how much it costed, you could practically feel the glee in their eyes.

This one in particular, make-up artist Rae Venturanza really loved. She wanted to buy it on the spot. This is an unedited photo; it’s modeled by Miel, who also modeled for me in a previous shoot. (You’ll see more of this particular shoot and Get Laud when we’re done editing the final photos). The straps are pretty neat, because I think they’re supposed to be tied at the back, but I think tying them around the neck looks better. Just imagine wearing this maxi dress to the beach! The fabric is also very good, like it won’t give out on you after a few washes. Fanny is a steal at P750.

And this one is my favorite; actually, I’ve already decided I’m buying it soon, after I’ve cleared up my crazy schedule (which is just perfect–I deserve a treat after that!). I’m not really a fan of floral, too girly frocks and Balmain shoulders for the most part, and the Bambina is all three. But upon fitting it with a belt, it was oh so lovey, I just had to have it. It’s just for P595! I always allot a higher budget for dresses considering you’re getting a whole look, and this is way below my average budget.

A photo from their Spring/Summer 2010 campaign with model Phoemela Baranda. Phoem is wearing Balmain Floral which is P550.

You definitely have to see Get Laud’s new collection and TRY THEM ON. You won’t know just how beautiful and comfy they are unless you try them on for yourself. You’ll probably end up buying a lot because they’re quite inexpensive. You can check out their goods at their Facebook page. I believe they also take orders/delivery.
They even have a line for full-figured women!

@joviane In Get Laud Glorietta 3 where I got it, yes it’s stocked. You can also ask the good people who manage their Facebook fanpage, I think you can order it from there. http://www.facebook.com/getlaud#!/getlaud
I love Get Laud! I buy my best work outfits from them (they’re probably the only things that make me stop hating our gender-insensitive and illogically warm dress code).
is that Get Laud hawaian dresses still available in stores?
Sorry, I don’t think so
That was a long time ago, but they do have new maxi dresses on stock now.
