I’ve learned a thing or two about jeans when I started this blog. I found out that I don’t really like how I look in them because I haven’t been doing a very good job in finding a fit that looks best on me. Obviously, just because it’s comfortable, doesn’t mean it looks just as stellar.
I have a long torso, but I am short-legged. Also, for a slim girl, I can be quite curvy because I’ve always had those hips (as for the top part, a good bra can take care of that). I just recently realized I don’t like how skinny jeans look on me because they just emphasize my bum and my skinny legs–which may have been okay if they were longer, but they’re not. So they just make me look like a dwarf. As it is, skirts that end above the knee (be it fitted or full), shorts and high-waisted bottoms look best on me.
But I haven’t completely given up on jeans just yet. I decided to get a pair of Levi’s Curve ID jeans when I won a gc from Animetric’s Levi’s “I believe” contest a while back. This is my first pair of Levi’s. Their Curve ID line has three types namely Slight Curve, Demi Curve and Bold Curve. I tried all three, but can you guess which one I got?

When I inquired about the Curve ID, the saleslady first handed me a pair of slight curve skinny jeans. I think this was because I look like a thin girl to her, so that’s what she assumed. The slight curve was okay, not great, but when I sat down, there’s that annoying gaping at the back. So we moved up to a demi curve. Slightly better, but still no cigar. Finally, I tried on a bold curve with a straight cut in 25, and I loved it. I can move around, sit, stretch, whatever and there’s no gaping at the back. Curve ID was supposedly designed to measure a woman’s hips and seat rather than waistline and I suppose this makes more sense, especially to someone like me because I don’t gain fat much anywhere except for my waist. Everything else is constant except for that!
According to their website, Levi’s Bold Curve has a higher back rise hugs your waist without gaping or pulling. Tilted pockets shape your geniune curves. Smaller, curved waistband and side seam celebrates your shape.

I love how my backseat is hugged perfectly but not too tight, and the straight cut veers away from making my legs too skinny and actually makes me look taller. Usually, jeans here locally fit my length exactly, which makes me wonder about taller girls. Fortunately for them, Levi’s is longer than the usual here (like Jag, for instance), but I usually don’t fold mine because I’d wear them with heels. And I really love the wash I picked, which is etched, and the type of denim fabric is of excellent quality. I can tell it’s the best denim I’ve had. It’s now my favorite pair of jeans, but I’ve noticed a few more things after wearing it several times.
I wish I’ve gotten something a bit more high-waist, because if I’ve indulged in dinner, it will be a bit visible. I’ve had a hefty lunch before this shoot and you can tell. Or, maybe I should have gotten a 26 instead. The crotch is also a little high, which I didn’t notice before, when I was fitting it.

Who said big girls have all the booty?
I got my Levi’s Bold Curve at Greenbelt 5 for P3800 ($69.50 in the US at their website), but the Curve ID line is available in all Levi’s outlets nationwide. The price varies depending on the style, cut and wash but jeans, especially Levi’s, is a good investment that will last you a lifetime (or keep you motivated to fit in them).

I always have problems finding the perfect jeans, too. I’m tall and curvy and well endowed on my bottom that I usually end up getting stretch pants because while the waist fits me, it won’t go pass my bum! Haha. The jeans looks good in you, Alex. =) I’ll check it out, too.
Yeah you might want to try this out. They’re not perfect, but they’re an alternative solution to problems with other brands’ fit, and you just might find yours here. I suggest trying out the bold curve, but you ought to give the other types a try as well, like I did.
Buti pa sayo maganda. I don’t like how the Levi’s Curved jeans fit on me. As in, all of them. Wala talaga. That’s why I’m going back to Jag. Cheaper pa.
Hi Bea, I like Jag and Bench too cos the length is just right and it’s affordable. I even buy the BKK jeans from Divi sometimes
Haven’t gotten to trying out all the Levi’s Curve ID jeans, only the skinny one that the shopgirl handed me.
Are the BKK ones nice? Hehe.
Sorry for the super late reply! Yes, nice naman, around P300. Sulit if you’re willing to go to Divi. But you can get away with Jag, Lee and Bench jeans also
Jag fits a lot of Filipina forms, and I’ve always been a Jag user, but I’ve been curious about Levi’s for a time. Did you try other Levi’s pants? I like their denim fabric better than Jag’s, but yeah, it IS pricey.
Yup. Tried all of them and none of them fit me. Sayang. Kaya ayan, yung jeans ko na curved na closest sa form ko pero may gap pa back.
Uh-huh, I can see that enhanced tush right there! I’m not used to seeing you jeans but you look good
Thanks Kira! Actually, this cut “de-emphasized” my tush but not completely as to make it totally boyish! My problem with skinny jeans is that I’m all tush and chicken legs so it’s bleh. I know boot cut will fit me well but it’s a trend that every now and then will go passe…at least with a straight cut, you get a classic form.
I like the jeans on you!:) i wonder what curve i am? hehe
Thanks Ava! You might be a slight curve or a demi curve!
talking about chicken legs, looks like that could be the jeans for me.
Or cut, not necessarily jeans
) I’m thinking of looking in other affordable brands for this cut.
those jeans look good on you. i’m jealous! i haven’t gotten around to finding me the perfect pair of jeans.
Galing lexx, I just typed in “Reluctant Stylista + The Reluctant Stylista is a fashion and lifestyle blog written by a once tomboyish girl who suddenly discovered the joys and perks of dressing up.” sa google search tapos ikaw lumabas na top search!!! Lupet!

I’ve been meaning to check out this Levi’s Curve ID jeans. But damn, their expensive! I remember the days when Levi’s jeans are only 1500-2000 bucks.
Yeah, I kinda think they’re expensive, too…but they’d be great for girls with long legs because my usual brand, Jag, fits me just right and I’m a small girl.
) 1500-2000 bucks would’ve been still expensive for me back in the day, since I’d nver buy jeans more than 400 HAHAHA
Oh, and for jeans, I personally like Lee jeans
They have sizes that fit me
I will definitely try this out. It is hard for me to buy jeans too due to big sizes. I am tall. Just a little bit disappointed about the price. hehe : )
keep it up. Love your jeans, suits you. : )
