The Reluctant Stylista

I love watches.  I know that for most people we’ve come to rely on our cellphones for the time, and usually I’m all for multi-tasking–but just not for most gadgets.  I like having cameras primarily for picture-taking, video cameras for videos, cellphones for texting and calling, and watches just for telling the time.

I haven’t had a watch in ages!  My mom used to give me wrist watches for school achievements when I was a kid, and I miss that.  I’ve bought a couple of cheap pendant watches before, because I love how Old World they look, but before my Ice Watch, I haven’t had a wrist watch for quite some time.

Ice Watch Press Launch

We were invited to the press launch in C3 Greenhills where an auction took place.  They provided us with some play money to start with, but it also helped to pool resources with friends.  That was my auctioneer (is that a word? haha) number in the photo above.  Quite a unique event, I would say.

Ice Watch - The Early Birds

I went with my sister of Skysenshi.com and we met up with a couple of early birds like us, Ro of Animetric and Michelle of Mrs. Martinez’ Raves and Rants.

Going home with Ice Watch goodies

Going home with some Ice Watch goodies, Shen took this snapshot outside C3. Here I thought my Shiseido foundation was doing a good job blending in with the rest of my yellow skin!

I’m not usually for watches that look casual, but I must say, Ice Watches are quite good-looking.  The lot of them look like toy watches!  From their September 1 press launch, I was able to get the Classic Clear model.  You might have seen them in previous outfit posts.

Both our watches are P3950 each

And they come in these adorable lego coin banks you can stack together.  I’m going to use mine as a, well, coin bank.  At least it’s not something you can just discard after getting your watch.

Not all Ice Watches are toy and candy colored, though!  The Belgian brand has classic and sophisticated designs as well.  These are some of my favorites:

I don’t care what people say, I love my gadgets in white!

I also love this olive/khaki color from the Sili collection

Classic Fluo Blue and Plastic Neon Yellow. I do love screaming yellow for accessories.

And look, Ice Watch also has the Ice World collection, featuring designs of different countries’ flags, including the Philippines!

The design here looks a bit conservative, but as you can see on this model, the blue and red appear on the face of the watch:

Ice World - Philippines

Yup, I like this one better.  But there are loads of other countries’ designs to choose from!  Visit Ice Watch’s official website to know more about the other collections.  In the Philippines, Ice Watch is available in Rustan’s.

Kinney – I know! I was really impressed when I got sent the invite, because it was inside that box. And it can be stacked with other boxes (we have about 4 at home now since my sister and I both got our own watches and the invites they sent us).

Anagon – Thank you! It’s from What a Girl Wants. I should’ve approached you earlier during the Kotex event, I meant to tell you that I loved your whole look. Hope to see you in other events soon! :)

I like the Philippine flag version of the watch, the one that’s colored around the edges. :) I also like the white one, it’s pretty. :)

The boxes are just so playful, like lego boxes.

  5. Alex says:

Smarla – I like the Philippine watch, too! Those from the Stone collection are gorgeous, but they’re the most expensive. 15k each, I think?
