Well, 2 inches of it at least. When I got back, my sister said it didn’t even look like I had a cut but trust me, I left the salon several pounds worth of hair. When I let my ponytail loose, the girl who was tasked to shampoo my hair remarked that it was thick (obviously) and long (not always so obvious which is why I sometimes get away with paying less when I get shampoo and blowdry services. The salon people find out the truth about my hair once it’s wet, and by then they’ve already quoted me a figure).
My hair was getting a bit heavy. And I remember when I was a little girl, my mom used to tell me my hair was sapping away all the nutrients from my body which made me skinny. So I always had short hair then, not that it ever made a difference. Now that I’m older, I’m not supposed to believe that my hair is sucking away all my fat, but after my brother remarked that I look like a poster kid for Caritas Manila recently, I thought shorter hair might be an improvement.

What do you think? I just got home from the salon and took those pictures, so I don’t know how it will turn up once I wash it. I was too lazy to go to Studio 546 in Shangri-La, which is one of the few salons I trust with my curly hair, and just opted for Hello which is just downstairs of our condo. It will probably look like this tomorrow:

My hair last year. And don’t I look giddy with that Red Horse.
I’ll end this with an outfit post. I wore these knee-high socks for the 2nd time in my life since I purchased them in Greenhills around 2 years ago. I’ve used them for shoots, though, on other models. The boyfriend shirt and shorts I bought from Glorietta 5. And you know the DMs. I did say I’d wear them everyday!

The yellow nails are an art project by Pao and I. Up close, they look very amateurish, but it’s the bonding time that counts.
Yellow nail polish from The Face Shop.

Nice, I thought you cut it short or something! Haha. And the nails huh…And Pao is polishing nails now?? Haha.
They didn’t touch your hair color, right?
The sweet nail polish project!
Nice to have finally met ya, Alex!
Aliza – might cut it short after a few months, maybe. I can’t deal with hair that’s too short for a ponytail. And no, I haven’t recolored yet. Tipid mode! Also, Pao wanted to draw happy faces on them, but baby steps muna. xD
Teeyah – Yeah! I wish we had more time to chat, that was a really quick event. I saw you guys before during the Promod styling but I was a newbie blogger then and didn’t know people and was too shy to introduce myself, hehe!
We’re both wearing high socks! love it. and i’ll never get tired of the new DMs! i see the difference between the new haircut and before. I like the longer mane though…you look so sexy (not that you don’t look sexy now). but i understand the need for the chop. heavy hair can be such a drag.
“my mom used to tell me my hair was sapping away all the nutrients from my body which made me skinny.”
- I have never heard of this one! Seriously, it made me LOL. Im payat too you know ;P
Kookie – Really? Well, I’ll weather it out for a few months. My hair grows long real quickly anyhow (at least to a certain length–after that, the curls just grow bigger), and then I can decide to keep it long again or cut it even shorter. xD
Kira – it was just my mum’s ploy to keep my hair short, haha. She detests long hair for kids, especially on kids with grasshopper-like limbs. I’m not a kid anymore, I’ve had long hair for years and I’m still payat!
What is it with us and hair-related blog entries. Haha! I still believe in our brother’s theory…I’m zapping you of your fat, which is why I’m now 30lbs heavier.
Yes, it fits you! the 2 inches shorter ‘do made you a bit lighter, and we can see your features more. So it’s all good.
Bea – haha, he said, “What’s wrong with you two? Ate’s getting fatter and you’re getting thinner. Is she sucking away all your fat?”
Camy – Aww, thanks! It was becoming pretty overwhelming. People have been saying all they can see is my hair and that I should eat more. xD Mom may be right, there might be a correlation between the two since they’re always mentioned together!
You look gorgeous! I think that hair length is perfect for you. And that outfit is awesome.
Thanks Lauren!
Your hair looks good!!! I like it better this length! And I love that boyfriend shirt.
Oh, I forgot to post in your hair ye entry – try kaya the new Pantene? I recently got it and was pretty amazed with the results – left my hair really soft and shiny. And it’s affordable too.
@ Kira – Heh, don’t complain! I’d kill to be as skinny as you and Alex!!! If we’re going by what Alex wrote, then I have too many nutrients, har har
Anna – thanks!
It’s a relief to wash pa, cos it’s not so heavy anymore. Does that new Pantene have a matching conditioner? Cos apart from some organic brands, I really flake from other shampoos. Conditioners, at least, since I just apply them to the tips of my hair, I can use them even if they’re not organic.
Alex! Yes it has! When the shampoo runs out, I plan to just buy the conditioner – they have gigundo bottles too, great for emergencies. But try them as tandem first!
When I was a kid my ballet teacher said I was lanky, hmpf. But I always wished I were taller tho.
@Anna: I need those extra nutrients!!!
Kira – me too! When I was a kid I’d cut up these BE TALLER ads in the papers but I never got enough money to buy their exercise videos to make oneself taller. Hahaha!
Hahahaha I know those get taller ads! My friend in high school actually ordered. She didn’t get a video though – but a booklet! And she gave me a copy! Hahaha. I’ll send it to you and Kira for Christmas, if you want! Lol!
Yellow nails are so charming! I really wanted to try that but I haven’t found the right hue. I will check out TFS. I guess they have the perfect colors.I found my perfect red polish there.
True! The Face Shop nail polish hues are pretty addicting. I know I can’t finish a bottle on my own, but I buy them anyway cos they’re so pretty.
Killer boots! It made me want to get a new pair of Dr martens and a new ‘do!
