I actually wanted to blog about this as soon as I got them, but I figured I’d just take a picture with a whole outfit for an OOTD post.

Like I said before, I’m in a very lacy mood nowadays. I got this cream lace skirt with a black garter band from Forever 21, not from my mom’s curtains. The top is polka-dotted, though you can’t see it from the picture, and it’s thrifted. I was wearing the earrings I got from Wellmanson’s. The ring was from Manila FAME International last year. I got the necklace from an online store, but I keep forgetting what the name is. What I’m really excited about, though, is this:

Remember a while back, I was waxing 90s nostalgia? My cousin who is based in Taiwan went ahead and immediately bought me a pair of 50th anniversary vintage 1460 oxblood Dr. Marten boots as a belated birthday gift. She went for a visit in Manila recently, with these babies in tow. I love love love these boots! I’m going to make them my everyday shoes, like how most people would rely on their sneakers. They make me feel tough! I don’t mind wearing flats, for once, and at least now I have something more serviceable to wear if I have to commute.
From their official website:
| The Vintage collection is handcrafted in the original factory (Wollaston, Northamptonshire, England) by cobblers using the original construction techniques that were developed in the 1960′s. The product, made on the original ’59′ last, features narrower horizontal tread bars, criss-crossed coring bars, a darker sole, a storm welt bound together on the lateral side, small indentations left on the welt by the original stitching machine, no top collar binding and runs into the eye stay above the top eyelet. This is where it all began. |
So I thought I might be working the 90s-girly-goth-punk too much and decided to throw in a cover up. I wore this blazer at first:

But then I remembered this really long silk top of my mom’s with Chinese-style closures that’s been in my closet for ages. Probably since high school. Every now and then, since the girls in the family are the same size, the help can’t figure out which clothes are whose. I’ve never worn it, though, but I always thought I would so I don’t think I ever got around to returning it to my mom, haha. This time I finally had occassion to wear it, and though I didn’t plan on an overall cream-colored scheme, I liked the effect very much.

Ja ne for now! You can be sure the boots will be making numerous appearances in my future OOTDs. Guys are digging my new kicks and I don’t mean that in a wow-she’s-hot way, but in a I-think-I-want-Dr. Martens-too. Haha! Bring back the old school!

Magnifique! Vous avez l’air très joli dans ces chaussures! I was wondering when you would start blogging about your Dr. Martens. Could I still buy myself a pair and really wear it? or is there an age limit to wearers of this boots:)
ate Jang, I think they’re classic so fortunately I don’t think there’s an age limit!
It can be paired with a lot of things naman, especially jeans, and there are the low cut ones, too, that aren’t so flashy.

Quite heavy than normal DMs, though. But I wear them as often as I would a normal girl with her sneakers.
