Dove Foaming make up remover was an instant favorite when Watsons started introducing the newest products to be launched in the market (during their most recent Beauty Lab). I must say I’m quite fond of it myself, after testing it out for a couple of weeks now. Here’s why:
It’s light. It’s actually a foaming oil cleanser but it’s so easy to apply and spread since it’s foam. I save up on cotton because with this, I don’t use it as much anymore.
It removes my mascara. Well to begin with, I’m using The Face Shop’s curling mascara, and I have been for years, primarily because it works for me despite the fact that it can easily be removed. I don’t know about other mascaras, though. But it effectively removes most of my eye makeup.
It doubles as my facial wash. I’m not a heavy makeup user, so whatever this foaming makeup remover misses, my toner takes care of it.
1 1/2 pump is all I need. A little goes a long way for me, though on the bottle it says that you should be using 3 pumps.
Easy to use. Have I mentioned that I’m lazy and I’m all for multipurpose products? That’s why I like this so much. It’s able to remove most of my makeup for so little and it’s great to use when you’re in a hurry. Or just plain lazy like I am.
For now, Dove took over my regular makeup remover because it’s just so easy to use. There are some little drawbacks, however:
It can sting your eyes if you’re not careful. Of course, you probably don’t have your eyes open when you wash your face with this (or do you?). But I miss being able to swipe makeup clean from the corners of my eyes. But mostly my toner takes care of it now.
Some users have claimed that washing your face with water after causes temporary blurry vision. I get this sometimes with oil-based removers, too, but I don’t half-mind it. If you really don’t want this to happen, don’t put too much product on your eyes and try wiping them clean with damp fingers and a bit of water rather than handfuls of it.
All in all, though, I think I will repurchase. It just wins me over because it’s so convenient!
