The Reluctant Stylista

Looking back on it now, I know that enrolling myself in Designer Fashion Workshops of iAcademy was one of the best decisions I made.  I met fun and fashionable people, who are my friends now and still keep in contact with even after the classes (you know who you guys are!).  I had a blast with them just watching fashion shows and the exciting backstage action.  And it paid off–I count myself lucky that stylist extraordinaire Noel Manapat took me under his wing and now every week is a definite experience that not all people are privileged to have.

DFW Manila is on its nth run, and are once again accepting enrollees for their summer schedule.  If you enroll on or before March 19, you get a 5% discount off their regular rate, check it out.  Registration ends at March 30!

And their roster of mentors–what can I say?  That’s just a pretty impressive list: Jojie Lloren, Lulu Tan-Gan, Roy Gonzales, Inno Sotto, Joey Samson, Robi Lolin, Noel Manapat (of course!), Millet Arzaga, Pidge Reyes, Patrice-Ramos Diaz and Manny Marquez.  But honestly, I’m even more impressed that such big names in the industry have the time and passion to share what they know.  I’ve been honored thus far being around some of them for some time during rounds at work, and I know (and heard) just how much they want to pass on their knowledge and how much of a boon workshops like these are.

If you’re looking to try and learn something new this summer, I strongly urge you guys to check out these workshops.

I’m thinking about enrolling in one of the three, which I think would be really useful with in styling work: Fashion Illustration, Basic Sewing or Accessories Design.  Help me decide?  What do you think?

You guys reading this should really give DFW a shot. You’d never know where it’s going to bring you. :)
