So at the end of last month, I collaborated with Ana Sideco of duHubShop, styling for a catalogue shoot. I actually met with Ana a few years before, when my boyfriend introduced us during his exhibit, since they were best friends in college. But it was only a few months ago that we met again, at the models’ fitting for Style Origin Trinoma mall show. (You ought to drop by her blog, The Unglamorous Model, by the way, which I only discovered some time ago. It got me backtracking for the rest of her entries, detailing her modeling stint in New York! Really fun read).
Actually, come to think of it, she modeled for that billboard.
She told me she had a shopping website and needed some help in revamping it with better photos of the clothes with models, of course, styled. I was only happy to comply. I’ve never done catalogue before, but it seemed like a good opportunity to experiment styling with local brands and I had a lot of free time last month since the Star Magic talent I usually style for was almost always abroad then. I was in for a surprise–there were over 90 clothes to style and shoot; it was a good thing that I was able to drag Nio and Jund with me who were such a big help! I wouldn’t have been able to plow through this without these guys. (Nio went panic shopping a week prior to the shoot, wahaha!)
Since it’s for June, we of course decided to go with a “schoolish” theme. Therefore, we went for a Campus Charmer concept, with duHubshop‘s model of the month, Jessica Yang. Funny, Ana and Jessica have modeled together many times on editorials, and they have that same aura, and sometimes even the same look–but when you see them both in person, they really look different. You may have seen Jessica more recently at her Plains and Prints billboard along Edsa.
Learn more about Jessica at duHubshop’s model of the month feature. I didn’t even know until this write-up that Jessica got the cover of Rogue a few years ago! I love Rogue, it’s one of our best magazines locally. Unfortunately, I missed that particular issue.
But without further adieu, here’s what we’ve done with her for duHubShop this June:
Video by: Eliza Go of E.GO Media. http://www.egomediadesigns.com/
Models: Jessica Yang, Lou Munoz, Michelle Panemanglor and at the last minute, Ana Sideco herself haha
Style team: Alex Lapa (I was the one wearing the necklace with chicken feathers…LOL), Jund Rian and Nio Manzano
Photography: Monsterlight Production (Formerly known as Focal Length Studio, whom I collaborated before with Wild Things and Sahara Summers)
And these are some of the clothes out this month:
I love those lace tops worn by Michelle (which are actually short dresses, too) and those ultra comfy cullotes. If I could bare my legs, I’d wear them all the time.
Actually, I’d think this particular ensemble will get you to the D.O’s office in no time. But I’m sure you kiddies can find a safer way to layer it. We just wanted to have fun with some sporty campus chic.
I need to stock up on comfy tops like this one. The weather here in Manila is just way freaky, going from hot to cold/windy and vice versa; I want layerable pieces and cropped shirts.
And this is probably my favorite top (worn by Lou)–I think it comes in two other colors, black and cream. It’s a conservative cut–until you noticethat funky eyelets at the shoulders for some skin-baring. Love it!
duHubshop has several brands under its roof such as Soulier, Trunkshow and Capital Vice. What’s great about it is that they do free shipping and has Paypal for all my lazy friends who hate doing bank deposit payments, haha (you know who you guys are)! If you shop now, the site has an ongoing independence day promo, too.Related posts:
